With four wrestlers placing in the top four of their weight classes, the Ridgefield High wrestling team finished sixth at the New Milford Tournament on Saturday.
The Tigers had 70.5 points to finish ahead of eight other teams in the 14-team field.
Matt Philbin provided the primary highlight for Ridgefield by winning the 126-pound weight class. Philbin edged Brendan Zolti of Newington, 1-0, in the division finals.
Chris Savoca finished third at 113 pounds for the Tigers. He defeated Joey Briganti, 5-2, in the match for third place.
Kevin Side and Matt Sesto each placed fourth for Ridgefield. Side fell to Dan Pisani of Franklin (Mass.), 2-1, in the match for third place at 120 pounds, and Sesto lost to Andrew Ayotte of Franklin, 4-3, in the match for third place at 170 pounds.
Franklin finished first in the team standings with 201 points. Host New Milford was second with 189 points.
