Ridgefield High seniors Andrew Barton and Sam Gravitte have been named to the Hearst (Newspapers) Connecticut Super 33 All-Star Football Team.
The 6’2, 235-pound Barton played on the offensive and defensive lines for the Tigers. On defense, he made 29 tackles, including 23 solo stops. Barton also recovered one fumble and had one sack.
Playing as a slotback, Gravitte (6’2, 200) ran for 568 yards and had 781 receiving yards. He scored 23 touchdowns. As a defensive back, Gravitte intercepted three passes and made 30 tackles (21 solo).
Gravitte had earlier been chosen to the CHSCA Class LL All-State team.
Ridgefield finished with an 8-2 record this season.
