The Ridgefield Public Schools Pre-K Program will hold an informational open house for the parents of peer models Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Barlow Mountain School.
The Pre-K Program is a program for 3 and 4 year old children who live in Ridgefield. At the open house, parents and caregivers may learn more about the program, while their children participate in an informal screening that consists of child-friendly play based activities conducted by the staff.
“The Pre-K Program is designed for students with special needs along with typically developing peers in a structured and nurturing environment,” said a school spokesman. “The program emphasizes intentional teaching for children through active engagement, play, and multisensory experiences in multi-age classrooms.”
The curriculum is based upon the Connecticut State Education Preschool Frameworks, Common Core State Standards for entering kindergarten students, and Ridgefield Public Schools kindergarten curriculum.
Parents interested in attending should pre-register by contacting the Pre-School Office at 203-894-7700, ext. 1530 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
