Ellie Bennett scored two goals as the Darien girls hockey team defeated Ridgefield, 4-1, on Thursday at the Winter Garden.
Darien (7-1-1) scored twice in the first period and then got the first goal of the second period to go ahead 3-0.
Ridgefield (5-3) pulled within 3-1 when Lucy Wemyss scored on an assist from Maeve Reilly with 3:25 left in the second period.
But the only goal of the final period came when Darien’s Georgia Cassidy scored into an empty net with time running out.
Heather Ogden finished with 25 saves in goal for the Tigers, who were outshot 29-17.
