The Ridgefield high boys hockey team cruised to a 7-1 triumph over the Staples/Weston/Shelton combined team on Wednesday night at the Winter Garden.
It was the first conference game of the season for the Tigers, who are now 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the FCIAC.
Liam Smith scored two goals for Ridgefield. Paul Garlick, Christian O’Connell, Andy DeLalla, Geoff Schneider, and Henry Gough added one goal apiece.
Brendan Winne, Jack Tregurtha and Alex Rowella had two assists apiece, and Garlick added one assist.
The contest was the start of three games in four days for Ridgefield. The Tigers will face Norwalk/McMahon on Friday at 6:10 and St. Joseph on Saturday at 8:50. Both those games are also at the Winter Garden.
