The Ridgefield High boys basketball team extended its winning streak to five games with a tougher-than-expected 66-60 triumph over host Greenwich on Friday night.
The Tigers (5-1) opened the final quarter with a 5-0 run to go ahead 58-47, but Greenwich (4-3) then outscored Ridgefield, 13-2, to close within 62-60 with 90 seconds to play. Ridgefield then hit four free throws to end the scoring and secure the win.
Jeff Racy had 19 points and Kurt Steidl 18 points for the Tigers, who led 35-33 at halftime and 53-47 after three quarters. Racy hit four three-pointers.
Patrick Racy added 12 points, while Matt Brennan had five points and Charlie Irwin and Jon Hicks contributed four points apiece.
