The Golf Performance Center at 824 Ethan Allen Highway (Route 7) and Great Pond Road recently expanded with an all-new training facility.
Year-round golf is now available with heated driving range bays, five indoor instructional bays, a 6,000-square-foot golf performance gym, Energy Zone snack bar, and pro shop.
The center has a virtual golf course for winter practice or competitive play. The center’s comfortable TV clubhouse will be a hit with parents.
When the weather warms, golfers will be able to train on the tree-lined driving range, with a pond, a bunker and plenty of distance. In addition, the center has an outdoor real bent grass putting green and a nine-acre short game course area.
“A family favorite is the completely renovated miniature golf course,” said Roger Knick, founder and president of the Golf Performance Center. “Here kids can challenge parents and grandparents to a friendly game of mini golf in a pleasant setting. This is a great venue for a summer outing or a birthday party.”
The new complex serves as the host to the Golf Performance Center Academy. “Working with professional coaches, serious golfers will learn how to become physically and mentally prepared with increased distance on drives, better consistency and a lower handicap,” said Mr. Knick, a PGA Class A professional, who holds the highest certification from Titleist Performance Institute for adults and juniors.
He is a TPI and K-Motion-Certified in golf biomechanics and is one of only five licensees of the Functional Movement Screen in the country. He and his team of certified professionals have more than 80 years of combined experience.
They have created a “one-of-a kind program that incorporates … background and knowledge in exercise physiology combined with scientifically proven training techniques,” Mr. Knick said.
