Helen Rella, 95, retired at 85, traveled the world

Helen (nee LoMedico) Rella, 95, of Ridgefield, passed gracefully and peacefully from this life to her eternal reward on Saturday, December 22, 2012 surrounded by the family who loves her.

Helen was the third of seven children.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She was an inspiration.  She lived her life as an example of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  She lived with great love, humility, compassion, forgiveness, patience, acceptance and self-control.  Something she said often was “the less you judge, the better.”

Vernon, NY, and lovingly remained in their employ and became part of their extended family for thirty-four years.

She retired at the age of 85 and then became a resident of Ballard Green in Ridgefield where she made numerous friends and influenced many lives.

In the latter half of her life, she traveled the globe with her children, grandchildren and her younger sister.

She is survived by the family she loves, a daughter, JoAnn Cali (Michael) of Ridgefield; a son, Vincent P. Lewis of Hopewell Junction, NY; three grandchildren, Michelle (Joe) Sullivan and Joseph (Linda) Cali of Ridgefield and Dean (Lisa) Cali of Rye, NY; seven great grandchildren, Joseph, Rachel, Rebecca Sullivan, Michael, Sophia and Alex Cali of Ridgefield, Hannah Rose Cali of Rye, NY; a sister, Carmela Atkinson of Ridgefield; a brother,  John LoMedico of Stamford and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
