It was a split decision for the Ridgefield High basketball teams on Thursday night against Wilton.
Playing at home, the RHS boys hoop team routed the Warriors, 79-38.
Kurt Steidl poured in 37 points for Ridgefield, which improved to 2-1. Steidl hit four three-pointers.
Patrick Racy added 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Matt Brennan had 10 points and seven assists.
The Ridgefield players wore a patch with Brennan’s number 20 on it, to honor his father, Ed Brennan, who died unecpectedly last week.
Meanwhile in Wilton, the host Warriors hung on for a 42-20 triumph over Ridgefield, snapping the Tigers’ three-game winning streak.
Wilton led by nine points entering the final quarter before Ridgefield rallied to tie the game at 38-38.
With the score tied at 40, Wilton’s Erica Meyer hit a put-back basket with 44 seconds left that turned out to be the difference.
