Merchants in town are hoping for Christmas shoppers, and many stores will be open longer hours in the last days before the holiday.
Here’s a partial list of store hours leading up to Christmas, updated yesterday by the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce.
- Books on the Common, Main Street: Monday to Thursday 9-7; Friday 9-8; Saturday 9-6; Sunday 10-6; Christmas Eve: 9-5 “or until the last procrastinating shopper leaves the store.”
- The Toy Chest, Main Street: daily 9-6; Thursday and Friday, Dec. 20 and 21, 9-8; Saturday 9-6; Sunday 10-5; Christmas Eve 9-4.
- Nancy O, Catoonah Street: Thursday 10-8; Friday 10-8; Saturday 9-6; Sunday 9-5; Christmas Eve 9-2.
- TL Bennett, Main Street: Monday to Saturday 10- 6; Sunday 11-5:00; Christmas Eve 10-5.
- Addessi Jewelers: Daily 10-6; Sunday 10-4; Christmas Eve 10-4.
- Craig’s Jewelry, Main Street: Thursday 9:30-8; Friday 9:30-6; Saturday 9-5; Sunday 10-4; Christmas Eve 9-4.
- Lucy’s, Main Street: Monday to Friday 10:30-6; Saturday 10-6; Sunday 12-5; Christmas Eve 10:30-4.
- Tiger Sports, Catoonah Street: Monday to Friday 10-7; Saturday 9-6; Sunday 11-4; Christmas Eve 9-3.
- Olley Court, Main Street: Daily 10-5:30; Sunday 11-3.

- Turkey Ridge said they would have extended hours but did not say what they were.
