Looking as though it was in mid-season form, perennial state power Fairfield Prep defeated the Ridgefield High boys hockey team, 6-1, in the season opener for both teams Wednesday night at the Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport.
Freshman Adam Karashik had the only goal for the Tigers in the second period. Callan McCormick assisted on Karashik’s goal.
Prep got two goals in each period, with six different players scoring.
Ridgefield goalie Dusty Rausa did his best to keep the game close, finishing with 36 saves.
Prep outshot the Tigers, 42-23.
