The book was written by Lanie Colao and Anamaria Weston, who said they raised their children in town and wanted to celebrate Ridgefield and all it has to offer through the eyes of a child.
Activities and games run throughout the book as well as a postcard theme that encourages the writing and sending of postcards.
The end of the book features scrapbook pages that can be personalized to make each child’s book a unique keepsake.
The website allaroundmytownridgefieldct.com includes more games and activities that may be printed off the site, and it introduces “Riley, the Ridgefield Rabbit,” who appears hidden throughout the book.
Orders may be placed on the website for the book as well as the corresponding Kids Cards and other town products.
The book is also available at the Toy Chest, Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe, the Chamber of Commerce, Books on the Common, the Loft at Bissell’s, and other shops.
A portion of the proceeds of the book will be donated to children’s programs at the Ridgefield Library.
