Raymond E. Fish III, 80, Ridgefield native, Navy veteran

Raymond Edward Fish III, a Ridgefield native and veteran of the Korean War, died Dec. 4 in New Milford. He was 80 years old.

Mr. Fish was born in Ridgefield on Aug. 24, 1932, son of Grace Matilda and Raymond Edward Fish Jr. He was a 1950 graduate of Ridgefield High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Fish worked for Home Oil for 16 years and was the owner of Ray’s Country Deli and Kelli’s Restaurant in New Milford, where he had lived since 1962.

He was past commander of VFW Post 1672 and volunteer fireman of Water Witch Hose Company #2, both in New Milford.

He is survived by his brother, Robert C. Fish of Ridgefield; a son Jeffrey Fish and his wife Carol of New Milford; a daughter Kelli and her husband Dr. Elias Deros of Watertown;  four grandchildren, Kyle Fish, Spencer, Logan, and Karina Deros; and two nephews, Robert and Michael Fish.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to New Milford Hospital to whose “staff we will be eternally grateful,” the family said.
