The Ridgefield High football team didn’t play a game Thanksgiving morning, but the Tigers’ still saw their season end.
West Haven clinched the eighth and final berth in the Class LL state playoffs with a 24-7 victory over Fairfield Prep on Thursday in West Haven.
Ridgefield would have qualified for states with a Prep win.
Instead, the Tigers finished ninth in the Class LL playoff point rankings with an 8-2 record and 1010 points.
West Haven also went 8-2 but had 1120 points.
Ridgefield ended its year with a 42-6 rout of Danbury on Wednesday night in Danbury.
The Tigers qualified for states last year with an 8-2 record, losing to Staples in a Class LL quarterfinal game.
