Elizabeth “Liz” Anne Myers, 68, a resident of Sawmill Village Way in West Dover, Vt., passed away Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Liz was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 5, 1944 the daughter of Frederick and Ruth (Haller) Burkley. She received her education in Franklin Square; Long Island schools graduating from H. Frank Carey High School and then attending Hofstra University where she was a music major concentrating in voice.

Liz worked in Real Estate for many years in Ridgefield, Connecticut. She managed two William Raveis Real Estate Agency offices in Ridgefield and Newtown, Connecticut. Liz also managed an office equipment store (Accuetec) and a Pepperidge Farms Store, both in Ridgefield.

Liz along with her husband, Paul, moved to Vermont full time in 2001.

Liz was a former member of the Wilmington Congregational church until the church merger with the West Dover Congregational Church where she remained a very vital and active member.

Liz was an accomplished pianist and loved all kinds of music including musicals, opera, and Broadway shows. She loved playing tennis, flower gardening and was an exceptional cook. She cherished times spent with her family and loved spending time at her home in Bermuda.

Liz is survived by her husband Paul Myers of West Dover, daughter Christine Anne Wrampe and her husband Peter of Windham, New Hampshire; her son Andrew Paul Myers and his wife Chelsie of Baton Rouge, Louisiana;  and her grandchildren Paul and Nicholas Wrampe;  and Daniel and Emily Myers.

Memorial services for Liz will be held Saturday December 1, 2012 at 11 am at the West Dover Congregational Church. Pastor Emily Heath will officiate.

Interment will be private. There are no visiting hours. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Liz’s memory may be made to the Deerfield Valley Rescue Squad or to the West Dover Congregational Church, c/o Covey-Allen & Shea Funeral Home P.). Box 215 Wilmington, Vermont 05363.
