With its 54-10 rout of winless Harding-Bridgeport last Friday night, the Ridgefield High football team kept its slim state tournament hopes intact.
The Tigers (6-2) moved up one spot to 11th in the Class LL playoff point rankings. The top-eight teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the state playoffs.
Ridgefield hosts Bridgeport Central (1-6) on Wednesday night at 6 at Tiger Hollow and then closes the regular season at Danbury (2-6) next Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 6.
In order to break into the top eight, the Tigers will need to win their final two contests and hope that several teams ahead of them in the Class LL rankings lose games.
Ridgefield finished seventh in Class LL last season and then lost to second-seed Staples in a state quarterfinal game.
