Katherine Cleary, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Cleary of Ridgefield, married David Schelly, son of Donald and Cathy Schelly of Fort Collins, Colo. on Aug. 11.
Dr. Hud McWilliams performed the ceremony at Sylvan Dale Ranch in Loveland, Colo.
Lauren Zeranski Chisholm was the matron of honor, Jeff Schelly was best man, and the groom’s nieces Cate and Olive Schelly were flower girls.
The bride is a 1998 graduate of Ridgefield High School. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala from 2006-2009 while earning a MSc. in wildlife biology from Colorado State University. She is currently a National Science Foundation Fellow and a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Idaho, where she is earning a doctor of philosophy degree in ecology with a focus on conservation genetics.
The groom is a 1998 graduate of Poudre High School in Fort Collins. He is currently a doctor of philosophy candidate in sociology at the University of Wisconsin, where his dissertation research focuses on the clinical diagnosis of autism.
The couple will spend next year in Costa Rica conducting research in their respective fields.
