The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference has revised its 2012 fall state tournament schedule in response to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
The boys soccer, field hockey, and girls volleyball state tournaments, which were scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 5, have been pushed back to Thursday, Nov. 8. The girls soccer state tournament, which was also scheduled to start Nov. 5, has been moved to Friday, Nov. 9.
Tuesday, Nov. 6, will be the last day for regular-season games to count toward state tournament qualifying. Teams will be allowed to play Sunday, Nov. 4, after 12:30 p.m.
State championship games in volleyball and field hockey will be held Nov. 16-17, and state championship games in boys and girls soccer will be played Nov. 23-24.
The State Open boys and girls cross country meets have been moved from Friday, Nov. 2, to Sunday, Nov. 4, the last possible day to compete at Wickham Park.
Girls swimming diving trials and finals in Class LL and Class S have also been changed. The diving trials and finals for Class S will be moved from Nov. 7 to Nov. 9. Diving trials and finals for Class LL will be switched from Nov. 7 to either Nov. 9 or Nov. 12.
