CANCELLATIONS, postponements, and other announcements

  • School is cancelled for Tuesday, expected to open Wednesday. School will be in session Monday, Nov. 12, originally planned as Veterans Day holiday.
  • Jesse Lee Day School will be closed Tuesday — still no power.
  • The Ugly Duckling, scheduled for  Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Ridgefield Playhouse, has been cancelled.
  • There is no public/parochial school today.
  • The Ridgefield Montessori School will be open Monday, Nov. 5.
  • MOMS Halloween Party at Rec Center today is cancelled.
  • St. Mary Church has masses this morning, but NO religious education classes
  • Ridgefield Baptist Church has services Sunday.
  • Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church will hold all services tomorrow, 8,9,10, & 11, and Sunday school. No power though, so dress warmly!
  • Ancona’s Market has power again.
  • The Little Pub in Branchville has power.
  • The Ridgefield Montessori School will be open Monday, Nov. 5.
  • The Aldrich Museum will open Sunday, November 3, with regularly scheduled family activities.
  • St Andrews Lutheran Church has power and will hold its worship service at 9:30 Sunday. Education hour follows worship.
  • St. Stephen’s Church, 351 Main St., has power/heat and will hold regular services this Sunday at 8 and 10 a.m. All are welcome. No Sunday School. Evensong and other Sunday evening activities are cancelled.
  • Screening of Phil Donohue’s “Body of War” at Ridgefield Playhouse Nov. 9 has been postponed.
  • Eric Hutchinson concert Nov. 5 at Playhouse postponed till December.
  • Aldrich Museum closed Friday, and First Fridays party this evening is cancelled.
  • Ridgefield Girl Scout Square Dance on Friday has been cancelled. Looking to reschedule.
  • Subway will open starting lunchtime Thursday.
  • Children’s Corner is open. Registration fee waived for new families. 203-438-3737.
  • Town hall lower level has wi-fi access, free.
  • Ridgefield Montessori is closed through Friday, Nov. 2
  • Starbucks has Wi-Fi Internet access
  • Gas stations open with gas: Valero, Copps Hill Shell, Stateline (cash-only at 11 a.m. Wednesday)
  • Many businesses along the Route 35 corridor are open.
  • Ridgefield Public Schools are closed all week
  • Halloween is “cancelled.” Trick-or-treating anyway.
  • Southwest Café reports it has power Tuesday and is opening for dinner at 5.
  • Ross’ Bread reports it is open until 6 p.m. Tuesday
  • Piccolo’s is open.
  • Planet Pizza is open Tuesday.
  • Dimitri’s Diner is open Tuesday.
  • West Lane Deli is open.
  • Ancona’s is open, serving hot food and coffee.
  • Ridgefield Hardware and Planet Pizza are open.
  • Wooster School is closed through Tuesday.
  • Ridgefield Aquatic Club practice canceled Monday and Tuesday.
  • The Center for Advanced Pediatrics and Urgi-Kids in Ridgefield is closed today Monday.
  • Ridgefield Supply is closed Monday.
  • Winter Garden Ice Arena is closed Monday.
  • Ancient Mariner is open Monday, but only for lunch.
  • Tony’s Corner Deli is open Monday.
  • Planet Pizza is open and delivering to all accessible Ridgefield roads “as long as possible” Monday.
  • P.T Cleaners and Tailors is closed Monday.
  • Craig’s Fine Jewelry is closed Monday.
  • Animal Fair is closed Monday and will reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so.
  • Nancy O is closed Monday.
  • Ross’ Bread will be OPEN this morning from 7:30 to 11:30 with fresh bread, pastries and coffee.
  • The Inland Wetlands Board and Planning and Zoning Commission meetings for Tuesday, October 30th, have been cancelled.
  • Architectural Advisory Board and Village District Review meetings scheduled for Tuesday night are cancelled.
  • Ridgefield Continuing Education classes will be postponed at all locations, Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30The Ridgefield Library is closed Monday.
  • The Boys & Girls Club will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • MOMS Club Halloween Party is postponed until Monday, November 5th, 3:00-4:30, in the Maple Room at Rec Center.
  • ROAR Animal shelter will be closed Monday (Oct 29) and Tuesday (Oct 30). “Please be mindful of your pets when it comes to this storm. And call Ridgefield Canine Control at 203-431-2711 if you have lost or found a dog. “
  • Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance classes Monday are canceled.
  • Temple Shearith Israel has canceled Tuesday religious school classes.
  • The Aldrich administrative offices and museum building will be closed on Monday, October 29, and Tuesday, October 30.
  • We Will Ride Therapeutic Riding is canceled for October 29.
  • The Ridgefield Garden Club “Small Bulb Workshop”   scheduled for this Tuesday morning has been postponed to Thursday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. in Ballard Garden. For information contact Mary Swett at swett3@gmail.com
  • Subway on Bailey Avenue is open today but closed Monday
  • Ridgefield Public Schools, closed Monday and Tuesday
  • The Library’s Reading is a Family Affair program Monday night  has been postponed. “We’ll find a drier date,” says library.
  • Toots & the Maytals Unplugged Acoustic Tour show with Anders Osborne, which was scheduled to take place at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Tuesday, Oct. 30, has been postponed to a later date
  • Open house at the Little Red Schoolhouse Sunday afternoon has been postponed.
  •  Monday’s “Destination Ridgefield” — Cancelled until further notice
