A car has snapped a pole on Florida Road near the Branchville School, closing the road.
Power has been shut off to 27 CL&P customers in the area.
The pole was split and hanging over the road at 9:45 a.m.
No one was injured.
CL&P was on the scene by 10:12.
Fire police are redirecting traffic.
