Riding a five-game winning streak, the Ridgefield High football team has risen to ninth in the Class LL state playoff point rankings.
The top-eight teams at the end of the regular season advance to the state playoffs.
Ridgefield (5-1) has four regular-season games remaining, against Brien McMahon, Harding, Bridgeport Central and Danbury. Those four opponents have combined for just six victories this season.
The Tigers finished seventh in the Class LL point rankings last season with an 8-2 record and then lost to Staples in a Class LL quarterfinal game.
